Dawn Foods started out as a family business. And no matter how the Dawn brand has grown, family is still at the core of how people in the company think, how they treat customers and how they treat each other. Dawn Foods was founded nearly a century ago on a simple story: two bakers and a recipe for really delicious doughnuts. To this day, Dawn remains a family-owned company - the third generation of the Joneses are still actively involved in the development of the brand. Then called Century Bakery and based in Jackson, Michigan, USA, Eugene Worden and Grover Lutz eventually chose the name "dawn" because of the time of day the bakers do their work.
