Agar 800 – 50 g
Made from seaweed and naturally neutral in both taste and colour, Agar 800 is a reliable gelling agent for anyone who wants clean flavour, beautiful clarity and a professional finish. Often searched for as agar-agar, agar powder or vegetarian gelatine, it’s a favourite in modern patisserie and home kitchens alike—especially when you want a firm set without masking delicate fruit, herb or stock flavours.
What you may not know: agar-agar naturally contains iron, calcium, iodine and other trace elements. It is said to help reduce cholesterol and is considered suitable for people with high blood pressure. As it passes through the digestive tract, agar-agar can bind old deposits and support internal cleansing. With high consumption it may have a mild laxative effect, and it is generally very easy to digest.
Pack size: approx. 50 g.
For gelling fruit juices, vegetable stocks, flavoured waters, etc., according to your desired firmness. It’s simple to use: the agar we offer is dosed at 8 g per 1 litre of liquid. Dissolve it into the cold mixture, then bring to the boil. Once foam rises, remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Pour over fruit or into savoury aspics (e.g., ham aspic) and leave to set. You’ll achieve a delicate yet firm jelly. (You can reduce the dosage depending on how firm you want the gel.)
If you want a completely clear agar gel, just add a little lemon or lime juice. It is not recommended to use with wine vinegar, as it then thickens poorly.
Store in a cool, dry place.
